Welcome back to the start of another great school year- let the CAE help make it a better year, join us as we work to improve the lives of school employees and their students.

CAE Delegates at the NEA RA in Chicago in July 2011- (L to R) - Shelia Washington, Donald Fontenot, Linda Victorian, Linda Ferguson, Pat Thomas (LAE Board Position), and Mark Hayes.  They represented Calcasieu and Louisiana well.

CAE members Mark Hayes, Linda F and Linda M joined hundreds of LAE members from all across the state to meet with legislators during the LAE Lobby Day, they were able to meet with several SWLA lawmakers and able to address their concerns over where public education is headed in Louisiana.  Be ready elections are around the corner...

CAE Pre-Retirement Seminar

On May 5th, 2011 over 100 retiring educators from Calcasieu Parish had the opportunity to listen to an informative presentation by 4 representatives of the TRSL.  Those present were also able to ask specific questions of the presenters to help them in their retirment decision making.  Kudos go to TRSL board member Dr. Sheryl Abshire for helping put this event together, an event that has helped ease fears of retiring educators over the last several years.  Please attend one of these informative events next year as it is never too early to plan ahead...

T-N-T is another huge Success, CAE applauded for their support

The T-N-T (Teaching aNd Technology) Conference was another success for Calcasieu Parish and shows why this is one of the premiere school systems in the state and the nation, especially in terms of technology.  The CAE has been an instrumental component in the success of this conference for over 12 years.  Besides financial support the CAE has helped hand out drinks and food during lunch, awarding of door prizes, and working a vendor's table.  We enjoyed seeing many members and signing up several new members during the function!!!
